The Studio is running locally on the vision controller but it is pre-configured to be also accessible remotely using one of the methods described below.

VNC connection and access from a web browser on another computer require both devices (the vision controller and the remote computer) to be on the same local network. TeamViewer connection is also possible through the Internet.
The physical network port reserved for remote control of the Studio is labeled Network and can be configured directly in the Studio in the Network section of the Network page.
For the VNC and TeamViewer over LAN, it is recommended to use a static IP in order to make sure to have the Vision Controller always accessible on the same IP address.

To operate the Studio remotely without the use of a physical display it is required to use a dummy plug for display emulation.
1 VNC
In computing, Virtual Network Computing (VNC) is a graphical desktop-sharing system that enables the user to control one computer using another computer. It transmits keyboard and mouse events from one computer to another, relaying screen updates back in the other direction, over a network.
VNC is platform-independent – there are clients and servers for many GUI-based operating systems. Multiple clients may connect to a VNC server at the same time. Popular uses for this technology include remote technical support and accessing files on one’s work computer from one’s home computer or vice versa.
A VNC server is a program on a machine that shares its display output over the network and allows clients to share control of it. This display output need not be related to a physical display – the server can be “headless”. In our case, the vision controller with the Studio is a VNC server.
A VNC client (or viewer) is a program on a remote machine that connects to the VNC server to allow remote control of it and to represent the screen and other data originating from the server on the client’s computer.
Recommended clients
The recommended VNC client for a PC with a Linux OS is
Vinagre. If you have a Windows PC, we recommend
TightVNC.
How to connect
The VNC server is started automatically after the vision controller is booted up.
To connect to the VNC server from your device running the VNC client, please use the
IP address of the vision controller as configured on the Network page and (if necessary)
port 5900. The

2 Web browser on another computer
The Studio is a web-based application which means it runs on a web server and can be accessed using a web browser. On the vision controller, it is configured to run in pre-installed Google Chrome on the localhost (IP address ).
It can also be accessed from a web browser on another computer. However, in that case, there is no way to interact with the PhoXi Control or the host system of the vision controller.
Recommended browsers
It is recommended to use Google Chrome when accessing the Studio from another computer. While untested, Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Edge should also be compatible.
How to connect
To access the Studio through a web browser on another computer please use the IP address of the vision controller as configured on the Network page. Type the IP address in the URL field of your browser to load the Studio web application.
3 TeamViewer
TeamViewer is remote access and remote control software.
It allows connection to a device within the same local network using an IP address or from anywhere through the Internet using a unique device ID.
Authentication is done via password - either a one-time-only password or a permanent one.
TeamViewer is used for remote support by Photoneo technicians.
It is started automatically after the vision controller boots up. This is handled by a system service which also restores TeamViewer in case of an unexpected crash. The servis can be disabled by executing the Stop TeamViewer command that can be found among available applications (bottom left corner).
How to connect
To connect to a vision controller TeamViewer has to be also installed on the device used for remote control.
LAN connection
To connect through LAN connection the IP address of the vision controller as configured on the Network page is used. The IP address is shown directly in TeamViewer if no Internet connection is available or when configured to only accept LAN connections.
Use the password displayed in the TeamViewer window on the vision controller or the configured personal password for authentication.
Internet connection
When connected to the Internet and Internet connections are enabled, TeamViewer shows a unique device ID through which the connection can be established.
