BPS Communication interface changelog

Since the Bin Picking Studio version 1.6.0 and the Robot module of the same version, the communication between the vision controller and the robotic controller is realized through the new flexible communication interface.

Besides other advantages, it allows backward compatibility - the Robot module of version 1.6.0 can be used with all subsequent releases of the Bin Picking Studio. That means the Robot module does not require an update unless the functionality of the newer version of the communication interface (utilized in the more recent Robot module) is needed or there is a patch fixing a bug.

The BPS and the Robot module are not backward compatible the other way around - a Robot module utilizing the more recent communication interface won’t be compatible with an older release of the Bin Picking Studio.

The Robot modules for individual robotic brands may differ in the highest version of the communication interface they utilize. Navigate to the official Photoneo website to download the most recent Robot module for your robotic brand.

The highest version of the communication interface for individual robotic brands:

  • v1.9.0: ABB, Doosan, Fanuc, Kawasaki, KUKA KRC, Mitsubishi, RobCo, Universal Robots

  • v1.8.0: Yaskawa

  • v1.6.0: KUKA LBR iiwa, Stäubli
